Save the date!  KAPPA's Spring 2011 meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 and Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Toftrees Golf Resort and Conference Center in State College, PA.  More information will be available after ERAPPA in Pittsburgh October 3 - 6, 2010.

The KAPPA Spring 2010 meeting was an exciting time for awards and elections!  Congratulations to the following KAPPA members for their achievements:

Sandie Ghaner - awarded KAPPA's Certificate of Appreciation for her service to the board and the chapter for business partner planning and coordination for chapter meetings over the past three years.

John Krause, Daniel Barlup, Chuck Garber, and Kyle Mills - awarded KAPPA's Bedell scholarship for professional development.  All four recipients indicated their intent to use the scholarship at the APPA Institute. 

Lenny Libbon - reelected to a three-year term as Secretary for KAPPA.

Daniel Barlup - elected to a three-year term as Director for KAPPA.

Joe Wojtysiak - elected to a four-year term as a KAPPA officer, beginning as Second Vice President.

Recent News

Thiel College hosted the Spring 2010 Semi-Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 20th and Wednesday, April 22nd at the Radisson West Middlesex and the Oak Tree Country Club.  Aimee Hill from Hill Consulting presented the Tuesday afternoon general session - "Bridging Generational Differences on the Road to Success."  The topics covered in Wednesday morning's educational sessions were building codes and historic campus structures, adaptive reuse of historic structures, designing and maintaining sustainable campus landscapes, facility maintenance management, unique insurance coverage and risk management issues for colleges and universities, and building information modeling.  Special thanks to Frank Connelly from Thiel College for his hard work on this meeting and thank you to our KAPPA members for making the trip west!
