2010 PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Happy New Year everyone!  I am filled with nostalgia as I type my final president’s message.  On May 7, 2010 at our spring meeting I put down the gavel as president and become your past president.  Social Networking will be our educational program on May 7 so come learn to tweet, use Facebook and other social media to keep your constituency informed.  We will also be electing some new board members at this meeting.  If you are interested in serving on our board, contact Ken Olsen, (Past President) kolsen@ocean.edu for details.

2009 marked another successful year for NJAPPA. We held our fall meeting at Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ.  We had over 100 attendees at the meeting, with presentations about Green Globe www.greenglobe.com  an alternative to LEED, and ActiveIon  www.activeion.com chemical free cleaning. 

We urge you to visit our state of the art web site http://www.erappa.org/NJAPPA , to learn about our upcoming offering on January 29th, 2010 for a site visit to Philips Lighting showroom in Somerset, NJ.   

We are continuing our commitment to present cutting edge programs and provide opportunities to educate you and your staff inexpensively and locally. On March 17-19 we will be hosting our 4th Annual Spring Conference.  Opening the afternoon of the 17th, the Jeopardy Challenge is ON! Test your knowledge of all things Facilities, while partaking of hors d’oeuvres with peers.  Our Key Note presenter this year is Jody  Urquhart, Syndicated Columnist and Author of the book “All Work & No SAY,” who will present Team Building pearls of wisdom. Additionally we will have an interactive afternoon program. On Friday you will have an opportunity to hone your presentation skills, presented by Graceworks.

 Please take note! We have drastically lowered our registration pricing for educational institutional attendees this year and arranged for reduced hotel room rates as well. You can not afford to miss this ONE!
