Roles and Responsibilities of ERAPPA Representatives on APPA
Committees
Each region within APPA recommends representatives to
sit on APPA’s standing committees and task forces as needed.
Formal appointments are made each year by APPA’s incoming
President. Confirmation letters are sent
to the Regional nominee and Board.
Committee appointments are normally renewable for a total of
three years of service.
ERAPPA representatives are expected to:
Have the support from their
college/university for the time and travel commitments;
Attend the APPA
Education Forum where the committees meet as part of the APPA Board Meeting
schedule;
Attend other committee meetings as
needed (these are usually in early December and paid for by APPA);
Provide written reports of
committee activities to the ERAPPA Board in advance of ERAPPA Board Meetings via
the designated Board Liaison;
Attend the ERAPPA Annual Meeting
and present a verbal report to the assembled members as part of the APPA Updates
session, normally at a breakfast session;
Provide a strong linkage between
the work of the APPA Committee and any similar ERAPPPA Committee (ex. Membership
and Education committees) by attending the ERAPPA Committee meeting(s) if
possible;
Advocate the ERAPPA Board position
on matters of regional interest.
ERAPPA Board Liaisons are expected to:
Be familiar with the APPA
Committee, any related ERAPPA Committee and the committee’s meeting schedules;
Maintain frequent communication
with the ERAPPA Representative, especially before and after a scheduled
committee meeting;
Obtain written reports of
committee activities from the ERAPPA Representative in advance of ERAPPA Board
Meetings;
Serve
as a conduit between the ERAPPA Board and the committee representative on
matters of regional interest
