By Robert L. Cornero, Associate Vice President for Campus Planning and Construction NJAPPA has an exciting line-up for the 2009-10 academic year. We kicked things off with our fall chapter meeting, held Oct. 30 at Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J. Over 100 attendees learned about new cleaning methodologies using ionized water, Rutgers' new 1.4 Mega-Watt, $10 million Solar Farm and the Green Globes environmental assessment tool for both new and existing buildings. With the support of our business partners, now numbering over 40, we continue to improve the value of our programs for both our institutional members and business partners. This winter, the chapter will take a field trip to the "state of the art" Philips Lighting Application Center in Somerset, N.J., to learn about new lighting technology and to experience the dynamic interactions of light and color. In March we will hold our fourth annual Spring Conference beginning Wednesday evening on the 17th and concluding on the 19th with what has become our annual golf outing. The program and location are being finalized now, but will include sessions on leadership, team building and presentation skills. Our Spring Business Meeting, at which the chapter will elect a new slate of officers, will be held at The College of New Jersey in early May. This summer we plan to host the Supervisor's Toolkit at Rutgers. We love to have the members of other chapters join us for these events, so mark your calendars and watch our website for new information.
