ERAPPA President's Message

Welcome!

On behalf of the ERAPPA Board of Directors, I echo the sentiments of the New Jersey Chapter host committee in inviting and welcoming you to Atlantic City, New Jersey for the 55^th ERAPPA annual meeting.  This year’s theme, "Transformations...Riding a New Wave", follows naturally from those in recent years which have underscored the need for facilities professionals to keep pace with changing technologies in an ever-changing world.  Cellphones, laptops, Blackberries - where were we without them 10 years ago?  How would we survive without them today?  What lies ahead,  and how can we make the best use of these tools, and respond to the ever-increasing demands placed upon us in a climate of ever-diminishing budgets?  Attend the educational sessions in Atlantic City, talk to business partners, network with peers and colleagues who face challenges the same as yours and, best of all, take a break and have some fun! 

Atlantic City boasts 30 million visitors annually, each with their own reason for being there.  While many are attracted by the casinos, others enjoy the beaches and cultural and historical sites. There’s “main street”, the world’s first boardwalk, The Civil Rights Garden at Carnegie Library, the Atlantic City Art Centre & Historical Museum, the Ocean Life Centre and, of course, recognition of the Miss America pageant, held in Atlantic City every year since 1921. 

Your host committee, in addition to an excellent program of education, has arranged exciting events for after hours.  Golfers will golf, shoppers will shop, and those who appreciate wine will tour local wineries, to mention only a few.
