Last year was busy for AAPPA. The 2011 Spring Business Meeting was held on May 19-20, 2011 at Saint Mary’s University (SMU). Dr. Mark Fleming, from the Department of Psychology at SMU, gave a great presentation on “Safety Culture Improvement”. His presentation included the background and outcomes of safety culture, the maturity model (5 stages of maturity) and the role of leaders in culture improvement. The presentation was very impressive to all who attended.

The remainder of the Spring Meeting was spent organizing the ERAPPA 2011 Conference, which was held October 2-5, 2011 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. With over 450 attendees, representing institutional members, spouses, business partners and Emeritus members, the annual meeting was a huge success. A great deal of this success is due to the contribution and commitment to professional development and networking from all ERAPPA members. The upcoming Spring Business Meeting will be held at the Université de Moncton in May 2012.
