If you like what you have seen on the ERAPPA website, you should join the organization to take full advantage of all that ERAPPA has to offer both Institutional Members and Business Partners.

Institutional Members are those individuals employed by educational institutions including, but not limited to, colleges and universities, community colleges, K-12 institutions, libraries, museums, and state systems of higher education. Most institutional members come to ERAPPA from the facilities management or physical plant departments; however, membership is not limited to those departments. Like APPA membership, ERAPPA membership is integrated; if an educational institution is an ERAPPA member, all faculty, staff, and students enjoy membership in the organization.

Business Partners are those individuals employed by firms and companies who provide products and services to the facilities management marketplace or who have an interest in reaching facilities managers in the education environment including, but not limited to, architects, engineers, construction managers, custodial service providers, computerized maintenance management system providers, furniture suppliers, window and door manufacturers, access control system providers, and industrial supply companies to name a few. ERAPPA membership for Business Partners is granted to the entity (firm or company) and extends to cover all individuals employed there.

Why join ERAPPA?

Check out what some of ERAPPA’s institutional members have to say about what belonging to ERAPPA has meant to them and their careers:

I started out in the Facilities Management field as a college student, just looking for a way to make ends meet as I was getting my degree. I stayed on with Facilities at my institution after graduating, but didn't realize I could actually make a career out of it until attending and graduating from the APPA Institute with the help of scholarships from ERAPPA. Even just a few years ago, I was still a shy first-time attendee who received an Ambassador Scholarship for the ERAPPA annual meeting and didn't really know anyone. Now I'm on several committees and I look forward to the annual meeting every year where I can reconnect with the new friends and connections I've made, having fun and sharing information with a wide range of people! – Jessica Abbott, M.B.A., Manager of Service Delivery, University of Hartford

image004I have enjoyed my experience with ERAPPA immensely and it has been a great benefit to me. I went to my first ERAPPA meeting in Baltimore in 2008 because my boss thought it would be a good idea. I had been peripherally involved in our chapter but was amazed at the exponential growth in opportunities for education, professional development, and training that were available at the regional meetings. As my leadership opportunities have increased in my job, I have been able to incorporate what I have learned at our regional conferences and the information from leaders I have met from ERAPPA institutions into my job. I’m a better leader on the job and in my chapter because of my involvement with ERAPPA. – Chuck Bagley, Assistant Director – Employment, Compensation, & Performance, University of Maryland – College Park

image006As a member of ERAPPA, I have forged lasting relationships that I rely on daily – networking, educating each other, interacting with likeminded people, and utilizing colleagues as a sounding board for problems and issues. I have received a scholarship from ERAPPA to attend APPA U and I am part of the region’s mentoring program. Since my involvement with ERAPPA began, I have received two promotions at my institution which I attribute, in part, to the knowledge and network I have built over those years. – Connie Simmons, Senior Manager of Events and Services, Phillips Exeter Academy
