PRESIDENT’S WELCOME
Patty Smith | ERAPPA President | Cabrini University
On behalf of the Board of Directors, welcome to the website for the Eastern Region of APPA. As the regional affiliate of APPA International that spans the Eastern United States and Canada, our organization promotes and facilitates the learning and engagement of facilities professionals. We provide professional development scholarships to our institutional members, as well as educational programming and networking opportunities for all our members.
There are ample opportunities to take advantage of that ERAPPA and APPA have to offer. I would encourage you to seek out your local chapter and attend their meetings. These meetings provide low-cost professional development and networking opportunities. ERAPPA’s annual meeting held each fall is another great venue for learning, meeting colleagues, and developing relationships with our many supportive business partners. In addition, ERAPPA and the chapter provide APPA-sponsored professional development throughout the year. Look for announcements about Supervisor’s Toolkit, Leadership Academy, Pathway to Professionalism (P2P), Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP) credentialing, and webinars. Lastly, explore the many resources and training that are available through APPA. The value is unbeatable.
Please explore the website to see the opportunities that are available to you – your local chapters, ERAPPA, and APPA have much to offer to help you be a successful facilities management professional. When you are comfortable, seek out opportunities to be on the leadership team of your local chapter. Who knows where that might lead you to, perhaps the ERAPPA Presidency!
As you peruse the website and find that you have questions, please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you may have. Your input is important; ERAPPA is YOUR organization.
