The State University of New York College at Cortland announces an employment opportunity, and invites applications for a director of facilities, planning, design and construction. 

The director of facilities, planning, design and construction is responsible for the planning, architectural and engineering design, and construction on campus. This director oversees the operation and function of the office and provides leadership and direction to the departmental staff. Acts as the Campus Facility Planner and SUNY Cortland Liaison for the Capital Funding Programs.

Required qualifications include: a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or a bachelor's or higher level degree with over 10 years of experience in facilities planning in higher education; 3 years’ experience in the development and planning of facilities design and construction; relevant project management experience in a similarly complex organization and; demonstrated managerial and leadership experience in 2 related areas.

Preference will be given to applicants with a Master’s degree; NYS Building Code certification; familiarity with CADD, AssetWorks AiM Operations & Management software and Microsoft Project; previous higher education or similar institutional experience; experience in a unionized environment and; experience with LEED & Sustainability.
